Terms of Service
Last updated: June 8, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Storyloom (“Storyloom,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Storyloom mobile application, website at storyloomhq.com, and related services (together, the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
01Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a household or family, you represent that you have the authority to bind every member of that household to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to create a Storyloom account. The account holder must be a parent or legal guardian. Storyloom is a product designed for children ages 4 to 12, but it is intended to be set up, managed, and supervised by an adult. Children may use the Service only under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian and may not hold an account of their own. As the account holder, you are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any use by a child in your care, and for ensuring that such use is age-appropriate and supervised.
02Description of the Service
Storyloom creates personalized, animated, AI-generated bedtime stories for children. You can design a hero, choose a companion and a setting, and the Service generates an original short story tailored to those choices. Stories are intended for entertainment and family enjoyment at bedtime and other quiet moments.
A signature feature of the Service is voice narration: you may submit a voice recording so that stories can be narrated in the real voice of a parent, grandparent, or another loved one. This feature involves processing the submitted recording to produce a narrator voice that reads generated stories aloud. Your use of the voice narration feature is subject to Section 5 (Voice & Likeness) below.
We may add, change, or remove features of the Service at any time. The Service depends on third-party providers for AI generation, voice processing, and hosting, and parts of it may be unavailable from time to time.
03Accounts & Security
To use most features you must create an account and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us promptly at hello@storyloomhq.com if you suspect any unauthorized access to or use of your account.
You may not share your account, sell or transfer it, or allow anyone other than members of your household to use it without our consent. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or used in violation of these Terms.
04Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe the rights of any person or entity, including intellectual property, privacy, and publicity rights.
- Upload, generate, or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable — and in particular any content that exploits, sexualizes, or endangers children.
- Attempt to generate stories or media that are not age-appropriate for the children the Service is designed to serve.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your relationship with any person whose voice or likeness you submit.
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any code intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its users.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or underlying technology of the Service, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Interfere with, overload, or circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or access controls of the Service, including credit or subscription limits.
- Use the Service to build or train a competing product, or to resell or commercially exploit generated content except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
We may, but are not obligated to, monitor use of the Service and remove content or restrict accounts that we reasonably believe violate this Section.
05Voice & Likeness
The voice narration feature is powerful, and using it responsibly is a condition of your access to the Service. By submitting any voice recording or other voice data (a “Voice Submission”), you represent and warrant that:
- The Voice Submission is your own voice, or you have obtained the explicit, informed, and verifiable consent of the individual whose voice it is to submit that voice to Storyloom and to have it used to narrate stories.
- If the voice belongs to a child, you are that child's parent or legal guardian, or you have the consent of the child's parent or legal guardian.
- You will not submit the voice of any third party without their consent, and you will not use the Service to impersonate, deceive, defraud, or harm any person.
- You will not create or distribute content that falsely attributes statements to a real person, or that could reasonably mislead others into believing a real person said something they did not.
You are solely responsible for obtaining and, on request, demonstrating the consents described above. We may require confirmation of consent, and we may remove a voice, suspend the feature, or terminate your account if we reasonably believe a Voice Submission was made without proper authorization or in violation of these Terms. You agree to indemnify Storyloom for any claim arising from a Voice Submission you were not authorized to make (see Section 12).
06Your Content & License to Storyloom
“User Content” means everything you provide to or create through the Service, including Voice Submissions, character and world choices, prompts, and the stories generated for you. You retain ownership of your User Content. We do not claim ownership of your voice recordings or the personalized stories you create.
To operate the Service, we need permission to handle your User Content. You grant Storyloom a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt, and transmit your User Content solely to provide and maintain the Service for you — for example, to generate stories, produce voice narration, deliver them to your devices, and back them up. This license exists only so that the Service can function, ends when your User Content is deleted from our systems (subject to routine backups and legal retention requirements), and does not permit us to sell your User Content or use your Voice Submissions to serve other users. Our handling of your data is further described in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all rights necessary to submit it and to grant the license above.
07AI-Generated Content
Stories, narration, images, and other outputs of the Service are generated by artificial intelligence. AI systems are probabilistic and can produce results that are unexpected, inaccurate, or repetitive across different users. Generated content is provided “as is” for entertainment purposes only.
Generated content is not professional advice of any kind — it is not medical, psychological, educational, legal, or safety advice — and should not be relied upon as such. Because outputs are AI-generated and may be similar across users, we cannot guarantee that any particular story is unique to you. We encourage you, as the supervising adult, to review stories for age-appropriateness before sharing them with a child.
08Payments, Credits & Subscriptions
The Service uses a credit-based model. Certain actions — such as generating a story or producing voice narration — consume credits. Credits may be obtained through one-time credit packs or as part of a recurring subscription that grants a set allotment of credits on a periodic basis. Prices, credit costs, and the contents of subscription tiers are shown at the point of purchase and may change over time; changes will not affect a subscription term you have already paid for.
Purchases made through a mobile app store are processed by that store and are also subject to its terms. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time through your app store account settings; cancellation stops future renewals but does not retroactively refund the current term. Credits are a digital benefit, have no cash value, are not transferable, and may expire as disclosed at purchase.
Except where required by applicable law or by the policies of the app store through which you purchased, payments and used or expired credits are non-refundable. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hello@storyloomhq.com and we will review your request in good faith.
09Intellectual Property
The Service itself — including the Storyloom name, logo, brand, app, website, user interface, designs, characters and companions we provide, underlying software, AI pipelines, and all related intellectual property — is owned by Storyloom or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of the Service to you.
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service and to enjoy the stories generated for you for your own personal, family, and non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Storyloom.
10Disclaimers of Warranties
The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Storyloom disclaims all warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that generated content will meet your expectations, or that defects will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
11Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will Storyloom or its officers, employees, or suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total aggregate liability of Storyloom for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to Storyloom in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty U.S. dollars ($50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Storyloom and its officers, employees, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content or Voice Submissions, including any claim that a Voice Submission was made without the required consent or that it infringes or violates the rights of a third party; or (c) your violation of these Terms or of any applicable law.
13Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if your use poses a risk to other users or to the Service, or as otherwise required by law.
On termination, your license to use the Service ends and we may delete your account and User Content, subject to routine backups and any retention required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 15 — will continue to apply.
14Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the app or by email. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.
15Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Storyloom is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your place of residence provide otherwise.
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at hello@storyloomhq.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally and in good faith. If we cannot resolve a dispute within sixty (60) days, the dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in the United States, and you and Storyloom consent to that jurisdiction and venue. To the extent permitted by law, any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis, and you waive any right to participate in a class or representative action.
